Lake Camanche, California....

This place is very clean and safe for people that aren't very familiar with camping.

"Clean" and "safe" are two qualities that we all want in a campground.

I looked up Lake Camanche on the web. It looks like a perfect place for a family camping trip.

Many of the sites - like the ones in your photos - are right on the lake, and others are just a short walk away.

I see from your photo that the sites have picnic tables and barbecues. The campsite at the South Shore of the lake also has RV hookups.

There are also restrooms with hot showers, and laundry facilities.

There is lots to do in the Camanche Recreation Area. Besides swimming, fishing and boating, visitors to Lake Camanche enjoy wakeboarding, waterskiing and riding personal watercraft.

I was relieved to see that there is a 5 mph speed limit within 200 feet of shore - and that no personal watercraft or towables are allowed at the upper end of the lake at all.

There are hiking trails, playgrounds, and tennis, volleyball and basketball courts.

If I am ever in the Sacramento area, I will be sure to spend a few days camping at Lake Camanche!
